Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management Services Manager
Work Location: Open to Montana & South Dakota Office Locations (Butte, Montana preferred)
Pay range: $102,200 to$167,500 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive energy efficiency, demand side management and low income programs in alignment with NorthWestern Energy’s corporate strategy, regulatory mandates, and customer needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of program coordinators, engineers/analysts, and support staff to achieve program goals.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EE/DSM initiatives, including but not limited to customer rebates, incentive programs, educational outreach, and technology integration.
  • Manage NorthWestern Energy’s Universal System Benefits (USB) program to ensure compliance and funding for energy conservation and low-income energy assistance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Regulatory Affairs, Energy Supply, Customer Care, Communications and Marketing, Operations, etc.) to ensure seamless program delivery and alignment with broader company objectives.
  • Direct the preparation and presentation of comprehensive program plans, progress reports, and regulatory filings to internal leadership, public utility commissions, and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including regulatory bodies, community partners, industry groups, and customers to promote NorthWestern Energy’s EE/DSM/USB programs and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Manage annual and multi-year program budgets; ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements and program guidelines.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on program participation, energy savings, customer satisfaction, and key performance indicators; identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments impacting EE/DSM/USB programs; recommend and implement best practices.
  • Ensure that all program activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
  • Lead the development and delivery of employee and customer training on energy efficiency and demand management topics.
  • Represent NorthWestern Energy at industry conferences, public meetings, and community events as subject matter expert for EE/DSM services.

  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy’s values, mission, and strategic business objectives
  • Travel up to 25%, including overnight travel is required
