Description

We are hiring Energy Efficiency Engineers at Energy 350 to join our team.
Energy efficiency engineers fill many roles across multiple teams and clients. We are currently hiring for several positions across the Pacific Northwest.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for people with a wide range of technical and soft skills. Our engineers are excellent communicators who can deep-dive into a technical analysis while seeing the big picture of each project.

Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Engineering degree and/or great experience required
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
  • Experience analyzing commercial and industrial energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
  • Experience conducting ASHRAE Level II Audits
  • Experience with the Clean Buildings Performance Standards for Washington
  • Ability to break down complex data sets to conduct root analysis and present meaningful observations applying data visualization tools
  • Ability to identify mechanical and electrical equipment in the field and explain control methods and what retrofits or changes can be implemented to conserve energy.
  • Understanding of regional energy efficiency measures and programs aimed at the residential, commercial, and/or industrial sectors
  • Knowledge of the residential and/or commercial HVAC supply chain, including regional or national market knowledge and experience interacting with contractors or distributors
  • Building science knowledge including HVAC design and/or construction administration experience
  • Experience with heat pumps for space and/or water heating in the residential and/or commercial sectors
  • A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • A skilled problem-solver that is adaptable to dynamic settings
  • Capability of working autonomously and collaboratively on a team, with good project and time management skills
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • P.E., EIT, CEM, and/or CMVP preferred

Responsibilities
  • Conducting deep-dive technical energy efficiency studies on industrial and commercial mechanical systems
  • Administering Energy Trust of Oregon’s Industry and Agriculture energy efficiency incentive program
  • Outreaching to and engaging customers and contractors in the regional industrial community
  • Working with industrial and commercial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects
  • Creating or reviewing energy models, calculating energy savings, writing technical reports, and reviewing engineering analyses
  • Conducting analyses to support efficiency initiatives and regional policies
  • Performing on-site Measurement & Verification or data collection efforts to determine energy savings
  • Working with mechanical contractors to scope commercial HVAC energy efficiency projects and communicating utility incentive program requirements
  • Influencing energy policy on a program, state, regional and national level
  • Writing clear and concise technical reports for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Performing research analyses to support efficiency initiatives and regional policies
  • Supporting Strategic Energy Management (SEM) at commercial and industrial sites
  • Presenting at industry events and conference
