EDUCATION

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Energy Systems, Environmental Studies, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and interest in energy efficiency)
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) designation preferred

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • No prior auditing experience required
  • Strong aptitude for technical and numerical work
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with RETScreen or similar tools is an asset
  • Interest in energy efficiency, sustainability, and agricultural operations
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform tasks while standing, sitting, and/or walking
  • Requires clear communication through speech, vision, and hearing
  • Use of hands for simple grasping and fine motor tasks
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights up to 25 pounds
  • May involve working in environments with exposure to chemicals, fertilizers and dust
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain field environments

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Energy Efficiency Writer plays a supporting role in advancing client sustainability goals by performing energy efficiency calculations and contributing to energy auditing projects. This entry-level position focuses on technical support tasks, working closely with the auditing team to ensure accurate assessments and effective project execution.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform energy efficiency calculations using provided data, tools and software.
· Support the auditing team in preparing technical documentation and project materials
· Assist with the collection and organization of data needed for energy audits and assessments
· Contribute to the development of energy efficiency reports and recommendations
· Maintain accurate project records and ensure information is updated in tracking systems
· Stay current with energy efficiency practices, tools, and methodologies relevant to agricultural operations.
