Full service engineering firm with tradition and reputation that goes back over 40 years looking to add an Energy Engineer to their Orlando office! Responsibilities: Developing/oversee statewide energy and utility modeling Drive strategic decisions for residential and commercial energy savings initiatives Develop/implement training standards and performance benchmarks for energy assessors Use technical expertise for energy efficiency measures, building systems, and emerging technologies Perform/oversee statewide energy modeling to estimate savings, inform policy, and support program evaluation Develop/calibrate utility energy models to assess cost-effectiveness, forecast impacts, and support regulatory filings Analyze energy consumption data and integrate findings into program planning and reporting Collaborate with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to align program goals and technical methodologies Prepare/present detailed technical reports, data analyses, and strategic recommendations to internal and external partners Support compliance reporting, audits, and performance evaluations for the program Conduct audits of energy assessments to ensure data integrity and technical accuracy Identify areas for program improvement and lead initiatives to enhance performance and participation Maintain current knowledge of energy codes, utility incentive programs, and industry best practices Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or related field Master’s degree preferred 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency, energy modeling, or related technical program management Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation preferred Experience leading/managing field teams (residential or commercial energy assessment contexts) Proven experience with state-level energy modeling and utility-based analysis Proficient in modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, TRANE TRACE, REM/Rate, OpenStudio) Knowledge of Florida building codes, energy efficiency standards, and weatherization programs Strong data analysis skills using Excel, Python, R, or similar platforms Provide expert-level support for modeling tools such as EnergyPlus, eQUEST, REM/Rate, OpenStudio, or similar platforms Experience with utility Demand Side Management (DSM) programs preferred Knowledge of Florida-specific energy efficiency initiatives and regulatory landscape preferred Salary is commensurate with experience.
