SUMMARY

The Energy Manager is responsible for the strategic development and execution of energy projects as well as the continuous commissioning and energy performance in a portfolio of buildings. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of identifying and implementing energy conservation measures at commercial building portfolio level. The candidate will be required to quantify and regularly report their successes, demonstrating the value of the role.
Within the current setting of heightened environmental awareness, this position will be a key driver in reducing the client’s utilities cost across a large portfolio of buildings.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Community college diploma or university degree in engineering or energy and building system technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing energy and/or delivering energy retrofit projects in facilities.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and deploying energy conservation measures in commercial buildings.
  • More than 5 years of job related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with project managers, property managers, building technicians, consultants and contractors.
  • Experience working with building controls systems and/or writing HVAC sequences of operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading consulting teams considered an asset.
  • Project management experience considered an asset.
