Join a large and innovative mining company as a Reliability & Maintenance Engineer, where you’ll support maintenance operations and small capital projects to enhance equipment performance, reduce downtime, and improve long-term efficiency through data-driven strategies.
This is a residential role in Northern Ontario, an ideal place for someone who wants to be at home every day and enjoy great life and work balance. Work schedule is 5/2 residential and we are looking for a person who is happy to relocate. No FIFO

POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re seeking a dedicated Maintenance Planner focused on energy management to support our commitment to reducing energy usage and associated costs while supporting the broader goals of the site. In this role, you’ll act as the site’s Energy Champion, leading the Energy Working Group and promoting energy-conscious practices across the organization. You will be responsible for managing the site’s energy budget and ensuring adherence to the Energy Management Plan.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation.
  • A post-secondary degree, diploma, or trade certification in a related field.
  • Proven experience in energy conservation, particularly in industrial or mining environments.
  • Solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of energy management topics, such as demand reduction strategies, strategic planning, and change management.
  • Hands-on experience in managing energy-related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Executing the site’s comprehensive Energy Management Plan.
  • Ensuring compliance with energy funding program requirements, including the timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Fulfilling all reporting obligations under the Northern Energy Advantage Program (NEAP), both quarterly and annually.
  • Developing and overseeing the site’s annual energy budget.
  • Leading the Energy Working Group in identifying efficiency opportunities and creating actionable implementation plans.
  • Maintaining a detailed process-based energy consumption tracking system.
  • Researching and submitting applications for energy efficiency initiatives and related project funding.
  • Keeping current with energy regulations, market trends, and industry developments.
  • Investigating new technologies and methods for energy savings and greenhouse gas reduction, evaluating their potential use within site operations.
