Job Title: Energy Pricing Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000
Contract type: Permanent
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Energy Pricing Analyst to join our Energy Division. This role will be based in our London office 3 days a week and 2 from home.
The role purpose of an Energy Pricing Analyst within ARO Sustainability is to provide accurate, competitive, and strategic energy pricing support to help clients make informed procurement decisions. You will also provide support to all trading activities and provide a detailed level of reporting for customers and for management information.

What you’ll do

  • Analysis of different products and prices from suppliers and the creation of recommendations based on a like for like comparison.
  • Providing pricing reports, recommendations and market updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Issuing tenders and engagement and negotiation on pricing and products with supplier pricing teams.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with the supplier’s trading desks.
  • Liaise with energy suppliers to gather quotes, negotiate rates, and resolve pricing issues
  • Monitoring the energy & water markets.
  • Run performance reports, interpret and provide insight behind the numbers.
  • Deliver accurate, competitive, and timely energy pricing proposals to clients.
  • Monitor wholesale energy markets, supplier tariffs, and regulatory changes to inform pricing recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing data, client quotes, and supplier interactions.

REQUIREMENTS

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • A minimum of one year’s experience in an energy pricing or energy analytical role.
  • An understanding of UK/non-UK wholesale markets, non-commodity charges, DUoS, TNUoS, CCL, CfDs, etc.
  • Knowledge of how supplier cost stacks and regulatory changes affect prices.
  • A good understanding of energy supplier products.
  • A passion for delivering accurate analysis and reporting in a complex and busy environment and within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to time manage and prioritise requirements from internal stakeholders.
  • A requirement to work well as a part of a team and to network with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to review and decipher data and to produce meaningful and insightful reports from the findings.
  • Advanced Excel skills - including complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros.

Desirable

  • Experience or exposure to energy supplier trading desks will be an advantage.
  • Experience of working with flexible contracts will be an advantage.
