Description The Energy Procurement Analyst plays a key role in helping clients minimize electricity and natural gas costs by tracking market conditions, identifying risk and opportunity, and negotiating favorable supply contracts. This role works directly with energy suppliers to secure competitive pricing, review contract terms, and present recommendations to nationally based clients. SIB provides robust onboarding and in-house training to ensure success in the role. By leveraging market insights and procurement expertise, the Energy Procurement Analyst helps clients reduce costs, manage risk, and optimize their energy purchasing strategies, directly contributing to client satisfaction and long-term retention. Primary Responsibilities Monitor and analyze electricity and natural gas market trends, pricing, and regulatory developments. Develop client-specific risk profiles and procurement strategies based on usage patterns and business goals. Engage directly with energy suppliers to understand offerings, request pricing, and negotiate contract terms. Review and analyze supplier contracts for accuracy, risk, and compliance before presenting to clients. Prepare and deliver clear, data-driven presentations to clients outlining options, cost savings, and recommendations. Analyze client utility bills to verify savings achieved through procurement activities and identify additional opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of procurement strategies and client deliverables. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, energy management, finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the energy industry; prior energy procurement experience strongly preferred. Solid knowledge of electricity and natural gas markets, pricing structures, and supplier contract terms. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines. Physical Demands Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires a normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations. Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
