Department: Energy Services Team
We are seeking a skilled Energy Services Technical Lead to assist our Energy Services Team. This role focuses on managing energy auditing processes, developing decarbonisation strategies for client sites, and driving energy efficiency improvements. Your leadership will help clients reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and meet their sustainability goals, with a focus on practical and innovative energy solutions. The role also includes ensuring compliance with relevant energy regulations, including ESOS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of Energy Services Team: Mentoring the team, ensuring the successful execution of energy audits and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Energy Auditing: Conduct and oversee detailed energy audits across client sites, identifying actionable opportunities for energy savings, efficiency improvements, and cost reductions.
- Decarbonisation Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of decarbonisation plans, including integrating energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy options for clients to reduce carbon emissions.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, providing expert guidance on energy management, sustainability practices, and strategies for reducing energy use.
- Energy Monitoring & Targeting: Oversee the monitoring of client energy consumption, set performance targets, and track improvements to ensure long-term energy efficiency.
- ESOS Compliance: Ensure energy audits meet ESOS requirements where applicable, while prioritising broader energy management and decarbonisation strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including collaboration with the Carbon Team, to ensure alignment with overall sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to provide innovative energy solutions.
- Team Development: Provide leadership and professional development opportunities for the Energy Services Team, promoting a high-performance and solutions-oriented culture.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in energy management, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in energy auditing, energy management, or decarbonisation projects, with proven knowledge of energy-saving technologies and practices.
- Technical Expertise: Thorough understanding of energy management systems, energy-saving technologies, and compliance requirements, including ESOS.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple client projects, deadlines, and deliverables efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent client communication, report-writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex energy data in simple terms.
- IT & Software Skills: Proficiency with energy management software (e.g., eSight) and advanced Excel skills.
