If so, we have got just the role for you! An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Birmingham City Council’s Waste Enforcement Unit, part of the Environmental Health service. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Enforcement Officer to join our team, where you will play a key role in tackling waste-related offences and environmental crime. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating incidents such as fly-tipping, illegal waste disposal, and other breaches of environmental legislation. Some of the qualifications and skills required include: Evidence of Level 3 qualification attainment (e.g. A-level or Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent level of experience. Able to conduct investigations and inspections. Capable of applying principles to make informed decisions and effectively solve problems. Able and willing to undertake a range of enforcement action. Experience of working effectively with the public or businesses and providing excellent customer service. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including during conflict situations. Able to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines. Able to work flexibly including some work outside normal office hours. The requirement to drive is essential. You will be expected to travel within Birmingham for which you will be remunerated for the use of your car.
