HOURS: Full Time. As we work to 100:80:100 full time equates to 4 days (28 hours) per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required as part of this role.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The role will focus on supporting aspects of our participatory work within Contact as well as Agency Alumni. This role will also support in providing pastoral care and support to our participants and Agency Alumni.
The role will support the smooth-running of projects focused on young people and the community, providing administrative assistance on our engagement and community development work, supporting events and projects related to our youth participation activities and supporting conversations with schools, partners and community groups to increase participation.

MAIN TASKS

  • Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer, and promote good practice in safeguarding across the organisation.
  • Manage budgets and resources allocated by the Head of Engagement.
  • Manage the Media Lounge space in Contact, including equipment management, space tidiness, commercial and community bookings etc.
  • Work with the Head of Engagement to identify and build partnerships with community organisations to drive participation and create a strong and relevant community offer
  • Delivery of projects and events that form part of a high-quality participation and Education offer.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Comms department to seek outreach and promotional activity to engage young people and ensure engagement meets our funder targets.
  • Deliver as a facilitator on one of Contact’s core projects (could be music, drama, poetry, leadership development).
  • Work with the Head of Engagement to foster strong relationships with schools and colleges.
  • Engage in outreach activities to recruit a diverse range of young participants to our projects from across Greater Manchester.
  • Support on the successful delivery of in-house projects focussed on youth leadership, music and drama.
  • Support our evaluation activities of our various youth projects and activities, using our model of youth consultation to continually drive improvement and innovation of our work.
  • Provide pastoral support and care for our young participants at Contact, supporting safe engagement in our activities and making referrals to external partners where required.
  • Support our Engagement Team in delivering a strong and relevant community offer.
  • Ensure that Artifax, our venue management system, reflects the participation schedule and is updated with contractual and other related documentation.
  • Collection of statistical data relating to the programme that is required for quarterly and annual reporting to our core funders.
