Description
At QIC, we believe in shared value — delivering strong investment performance while creating positive outcomes for our clients, communities and people.  We’re seeking an Engagement and First Nations Program Specialist to play a key role in delivering QIC’s people, community and ESG initiatives. This includes supporting the implementation of our First Nations Strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as part of a broader portfolio of engagement, coordination and organisational programs. This is a 12‑month contract position, supported by a thorough handover period to set you up for success. This role sits within a purpose-driven ESG team and touches a wide range of projects, relationships and community outcomes. We are genuinely open to part‑time or school‑hours working arrangements. About the Role In this role, you will support and coordinate the delivery of QIC’s First Nations Strategy and RAP. Your work will contribute to community engagement, organisational learning, internal storytelling, partnerships and ESG initiatives across the business. Key components include: * Coordinating First Nations programs, events and activities such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC. * Supporting the RAP Working Group, including governance, actions, administration and cross-team collaboration. * Managing relationships with external First Nations partners, suppliers and community members. * Coordinating QIC’s First Nations tertiary scholarships and university partnerships. * Preparing reports, tracking progress and capturing impact data and stories. * Supporting broader ESG work including modern slavery, human rights and enterprise-level RFP or DDQ responses. * Working with People & Culture, Communications, Marketing and ESG colleagues to bring engagement and communication initiatives to life. * Supporting event coordination, stakeholder engagement and day-to-day administration.   This is a busy, hands-on, admin-focused role where no two days will be the same — you’ll be managing lots of small tasks, moving parts and quick-turnaround activities that keep our programs and partnerships running smoothly. About You You’re someone who is passionate about First Nations engagement and community impact. You enjoy balancing coordination, communication and relationship-building, and you bring warmth and initiative to your work. You’ll succeed here if you: * Enjoy being organised and keeping programs running smoothly. * Communicate clearly and can capture stories that build pride and awareness. * Build trust easily and work well with diverse stakeholders. * Are comfortable managing competing deadlines and reprioritising when needed. * Thrive in a collaborative, purpose-led team environment. * Bring enthusiasm for reconciliation and meaningful community engagement. * First Nations candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.   Essential Criteria * Experience in ESG, community engagement, communications or program coordination. * Strong organisation and project management capability with high attention to detail. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and audience tailoring. * Experience managing partnerships with not-for-profits, universities or First Nations organisations. * Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels. * Genuine passion for First Nations engagement and reconciliation.   Desired Criteria * Experience developing or managing social impact, community or communications programs, ideally within financial services or a similar environment. * Understanding of First Nations affairs and engagement approaches. * Knowledge of evaluation, impact measurement or outcomes reporting.   Why Join QIC? You’ll be joining a supportive ESG team committed to collaboration, learning and impact. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful First Nations outcomes while developing your experience across ESG, partnerships, communications and engagement. We are proud to offer flexible working, including part‑time or school-hours arrangements, to ensure you can thrive both professionally and personally.
