Responsibilities

As the Engagement and Insights Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in embedding meaningful community engagement across the organisation. You’ll guide and inspire others to adopt best-practice approaches, ensure our processes are inclusive and evidence-based, and make sure community voices are heard – and acted on.

You’ll:

  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of our Community Engagement Policy and Toolkit.
  • Advise, coach others, and support delivery of best practice community engagement.
  • Increase and maintain diverse community participation in engagement activities.
  • Work with others to combine and analyse engagement and other data to develop insights to strengthen Council’s evidence-based practice.
  • Lead the use of our online engagement platform, Shaping Banyule , ensuring projects are accessible, engaging and well-communicated.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day support to Council’s Community Engagement Officer, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours to support delivery of community engagement activities outside of normal business hours (evenings, weekends) will be required.
