Description
Purpose of the Role The Engagement and Participation Officer will co-design and implement our flagship youth programmes, such as Hub and the Young Changemakers Network and will be responsible for communicating with the young people involved in these programmes. The Engagement and Participation Officer will enable a youth-driven model for the Young Changemakers Network and Hub, and will engage directly with children and young people in order to support the culture and operations of the CCYP office. The Engagement and Participation Officer will value and respect young people’s contributions and facilitate opportunities for genuine and meaningful engagement across the organisation. Role Responsibilities and Key Outcomes Co-design, test and refine CCYP’s flagship youth programs with children and young people · Support children and young people to co-design and contribute to the development of strategies and programmes to meet the objectives and outcomes of the CCYP. · Working with the broader CCYP team to shape the programme models to ensure they succeed and align with our broader strategy and goals. Supporting the day-to-day operations and delivery of CCYP’s youth programs · Be the direct point-of-contact for all young people involved in CCYP’s flagship programmes, such as Hub and the Young Changemakers Network SA. · Run and facilitating regular meetings, workshops and events (may include some out of hour’s work). · Planning and delivery of programme activities and timelines. · Any other work supporting the broader CCYP team as needed. Advocacy and evaluation · Support the programmes to achieve success by aligning advocacy work with campaign goals · Tracking and evaluating programme success to shape future refinements. · Communicate effectively in a youth-friendly, accessible and engaging way with stakeholders, including children and young people. · Well organised with great attention to detail to support projects and programme management. · Understanding of the youth sector and ability to effectively engage and develop collaborative working relationship with children and young people. · Interest in advocacy and youth participation and interest in learning best-practice youth engagement theory and practice. · Ability to listen respectfully to all young people, regardless of backgrounds and value their contributions. · Ability to work collaboratively with a team mindset. · Knowledge and commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive working environment; and the legislative requirements of Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety Legislation.
