Description

JOIN US IN CHAMPIONING INCLUSION AND VOLUNTEERING ACROSS WEST SUSSEX!

Are you driven by a passion for inclusion and the power of volunteering? Do you want to help shape a more supportive future for unpaid carers in your community?
At Carers Support West Sussex, we’re looking for someone just like you to join our Engagement & Volunteer Team. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a real difference in the lives of family and friend carers across the county.
At Carers Support West Sussex our core values include being a vehicle for amplifying carer voices to ensure they are heard, seen and included. You will work alongside colleagues to develop and deliver engagement and participation opportunities that influence positive change and truly make a difference to carers, both locally and nationally.
We also recognise the immense value volunteers bring to the organisation and are actively growing our volunteering opportunities. You will help to recruit, train, induct and diversify our volunteer base and be involved in a variety of exciting volunteer supported projects that enhance the services we provide.
This is a hybrid role, blending remote work with in-person meetings and events across West Sussex. Some weekend availability may be required, so flexibility and a good knowledge of the county—whether through living or working here—are essential.
Come and be part of a team that that celebrates diversity, collaboration, and community spirit and that leads and supports projects that have real, lasting impact.

BEFORE YOU KEEP READING

Please do not see everything in this job advert as a “Must Have”, but rather a guiding list of what we are looking for. We know no candidate will be the perfect match for all we have mentioned in this advert, so do not be afraid to apply if you feel you are close to the brief but not “Spot On”. For example, some of our wonderful Carer Wellbeing Workers come from a non-social care background and they do amazingly well!

Responsibilities
  • Empowering Carers: You’ll co-create meaningful engagement and participation opportunities that amplify carer voices and influence positive change—locally and nationally.
  • Collaborating for Change: Work alongside a passionate team committed to inclusion, innovation, and making carers feel seen, heard, and valued.
  • Growing Volunteer Impact: Help us expand and diversify our volunteer community. You’ll play a key role in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who enhance the services we provide.
