Description

OASW is the voice of the social work profession in Ontario and our mission is to mobilize mental health and wellbeing across Ontario. Our 2022-2027 Strategic Plan outlines how we will advance the social work profession by shaping the future of social work, leading equity integration, growing our membership, enhancing our engagement, and building a sustainable future for the organization.
OASW is seeking an individual experienced in customer service and/or volunteer management to assume the role of Engagement Associate on a 12-month contract. In this position, you will provide administrative, technical, and logistical supports to the Local Engagement Network Program. If you are highly organized and detail-oriented, this position is well suited to you.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a membership association and/or in social services within a non-profit or academic environment.
· Ability to provide prompt, responsive and patient customer service aligned with the Association’s mission and values, to a diverse range of people in order to build rapport and address emerging issues. Experience in working with and engaging diverse voices and identities.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and pay close attention to details.
· Experience in planning and facilitating successful networking and educational events, both in-person and virtually on platforms such as Zoom and GoToWebinar.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Analytical skills to evaluate available options and recommend the best course of action, taking into account risk management and aligning with OASW’s mission and values
· Adaptability to changing environments. Strong time management skills.
· Proficiency with a variety of computer programs, including MS Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Demonstrated success in collaborating well with people and teams, as well as building strong relationships with external stakeholders.
· MSW or BSW degree considered an asset. Candidates with a social work degree must be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Reports to: Manager, Member Engagement Programs
Salary: $50,000
Contract: 12 months, with potential for renewal

Responsibilities

· Provide event planning support and problem-solving to networks of volunteers for their events across Ontario, including registration, technical support, venue-sourcing, and marketing.
· Serve as liaison for general inquiries from our members, speakers, presenters, and other stakeholders related to the Local Engagement Networks.
· Proactively identify and recruit OASW members to engage in the Local Engagement Networks.
· Review venue and presenter contracts, assessing and mitigating potential risks.
· Prepare invoicing for payments. Review volunteer expense claims.
· Record financial transactions to support accurate tracking of multiple budgets.
· Prepare reports and other materials to support the success of our Local Engagement Ambassadors.
· Collate data to assist in evaluating outcomes of the program, including maintenance and creation of spreadsheets.
· Assist with the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to help guide program strategy and targets.
· Work with volunteers to integrate equity and inclusion into network events.
· Support and implement strategies that engage with specific populations within our membership, including student and Francophone members.
· Support other OASW projects, events and trainings as needed.
