JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday (evenings and weekends as needed)
  • Job Type: Full-time (37.5hrs/week)
  • Salary: $26.00-$33.00 per hour

SUMMARY

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo (BBBSWB) is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Engagement Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is key in organizing, marketing, supporting, and executing a comprehensive calendar of fundraising and awareness events that further our mission. The Engagement Coordinator will manage and oversee signature events such as our Annual Wine Auction, Duck Drop, MEGABike, and Bowl for Kids’ Sake, in addition to supporting third-party events that align with our goals.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Engagement Coordinator will take the lead in planning and executing large-scale events, managing sponsorships and volunteers, and overseeing donor relations. This includes identifying and cultivating sponsorship opportunities, stewarding current sponsors, and ensuring a positive donor experience. The role involves fostering strategic relationships with stakeholders and the broader community, coordinating communication efforts, managing volunteers, and driving engagement across various platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, event management, business administration, or marketing is required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, event management, and donor management. Proficiency in nonprofit management and event management is necessary.
  • Ability to foster community relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, mail merges) and Dropbox.
  • Experience with fundraising databases, such as CanadaHelps, is preferred.
  • Experience working with volunteers for special events.
  • Self-starter, capable of identifying needs and taking independent action.
  • Experience planning and executing social media campaigns.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Clean Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
