WHY YOUR ROLE MATTERS

You’ll be the go-to connector between the Enterprise Data Office and every corner of UNSW’s diverse landscape. This role is all about building bridges, engaging key stakeholders, raising awareness, and fostering strong partnerships that embed data governance and literacy into the very fabric of the university.
Along with the EDO Leadership Team you will lead dynamic engagement, communications, and change initiatives that help people across faculties, research groups, and admin teams understand, adopt, and become champions of all things data.
From creating killer comms and running impactful workshops to shaping strategy and supporting executive-level engagement. You’ll be at the heart of a cultural shift, sparking collaboration and transforming how UNSW leverages data to drive smarter decisions and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and deliver engagement strategies that cut through the noise and measure what truly matters to make an impact.
  • Work with the Senior Change Manager and EDO Leadership team to design, implement, and continuously improve a university-wide engagement framework aligned with strategic goals and compliance requirements.
  • Tailor engagement approaches to meet the unique needs of diverse stakeholders - from researchers and faculties to executives and admin teams.
  • Lead compelling storytelling and strategic messaging that positions the EDO as UNSW’s centre of excellence for data.
  • Drive content creation across multiple channels - infographics, newsletters, workshops, town halls, and more, that get the university talking about data.
  • Champion data literacy and the power of data-informed decision-making, delivering awareness and training sessions that empower the wider UNSW community.
  • Map stakeholders comprehensively, coordinate communications, and foster a strong, aligned data community across faculties, divisions, and external partners.
  • Play a key role in change management activities supporting both project initiatives and BAU operations within the EDO.
  • Own and refine engagement metrics and reporting frameworks to continuously improve strategy and outcomes.
  • Develop insights from stakeholder engagement to inform enterprise data governance, policy development, and strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a vital liaison between the EDO and university faculties, divisions, and external partners, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide data strategy.
  • Serve as an internal ambassador for data responsibility, promoting team successes and embedding a culture of transparency and collaboration.
