REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong customer focus and team-orientated attitude, able to build excellent relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
  • Ability to successfully influence others and effectively communicate with mining customers and dealers to develop partnerships and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to perform consultative work within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Proven record of strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from mine site sponsors up to senior management level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Relevant industry experience in operations and project management, process, and applications (mining preferred).
  • Sound business management acumen, relevant experience in the fields of practice or related industries (mining preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organisational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Continuous improvement philosophy of always working toward cultures of excellence, both from technical and interpersonal means.
  • Require travel: 25% - 50%

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

As The Engagement Manager, you will become the technical expert on large and complex mining projects supporting the APD Region, within the Major Projects Team. You will be responsible in building strong relationships and overseeing the coordination of the aligned strategy between key stakeholders, dealers, and internal business partners, delivering a holistic proposal adapted to the customer requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to use fleet production and financial modelling tools together with project documentation to develop a mine site specific production and cost analysis and provide fleet sizing/volume recommendations to offer the best outcome for the customer’s mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible to act as a team and/or project leader.
  • Analyse the customer needs and collaborate with the Caterpillar Subject Matter Experts where needed to scope and develop a customized solution.
  • Allocate and deploy resources necessary to meet customer needs, coordinate and oversee all customer engagement initiatives.
  • Undertake financial and production modelling for customer specific applications.
  • Ensure that the Caterpillar proposal is realistic and addresses the customer concerns and enhancements.
  • Utilising the Customer Strategic Approach coordinate the various stakeholders to develop an integrated customer focused solution.
  • Ensure that the Caterpillar proposal meets all the legal and financial requirements.
