JOB SUMMARY

As Engagement and Outreach Officer you will be working closely with the senior and project management teams. You will be out on the road meeting people and embedding yourself within the communities we serve. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders and potential service users. You will be taking the lead driving awareness, participation and support for the DDM’s health programmes, initiatives or services through targeted outreach and engagement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or public relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of community dynamics.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Knowledge of local community networks and resources.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce reports.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Driving license and car.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 38 per week

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute community engagement and outreach plans aligned with organisational goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups, stakeholders, partners and the general public.
  • Organise and participate in events, workshops and meetings to promote the organisation’s mission and services.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with external organisations.
  • Represent the organisation at public events and meetings as required.
  • Support fundraising and advocacy campaigns through targeted outreach initiatives.
  • Collect and analyse feedback from community members to inform programme improvements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and promotional materials to support and evidence outreach activities.
