Position: Engagement Programs Manager Department: Education & Engagement Reports to: Adrienne Dillard-Coons Director of Education & Engagement Classification: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt Compensation: $30.21 Grade: 24 Posting Date: 3/24/2026 Application Review Begins: Immediate Preferred Start Date: 4/27/2026 Position Summary: The Engagement Programs Manager supports the vision of- and manages the day-to-day operations for- SCT’s Engagement programming, within the Education & Engagement Department. This role is responsible for developing and supporting community collaborations around our mainstage season as well as the implementation of workshops, residencies, and events, ensuring high quality, inclusive programming that reflects SCT’s mission and values. The Engagement Programs Manager oversees program budgets and revenue goals, hires, schedules, and supports Teaching Artists and seasonal staff. In addition, this role cultivates relationships with internal stakeholders and community partners, collaborates with internal departments to advance program visibility, and contributes to long-term planning and growth of education and engagement initiatives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Program Design, Operations, & Administration In partnership with the Director of Education & Engagement and Artistic Director, conceptualize, develop, and expand annual Engagement program offerings. Develop, evaluate, and update curriculum for workshops and residencies through a culturally responsive and inclusive lens. Oversee/evaluate new and existing curricula, ensuring quality and alignment with organizational values. Develop and monitor work plans to ensure timely programming launches and smooth program operations. Engage in teaching skills within departmental programming when needed. Develop, manage, and maintain programmatic operations, including community events, workshops, residencies, and afterschool enrichment programs. Collect, track, and report program data, evaluations, and participant feedback to ensure programming addresses community priorities. Respond to escalated community partner concerns in a timely and supportive manner. Budgeting & Revenue Management Oversee and maintain operational budgets, including budget planning, tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Manage revenue goals for programs. Oversee contracts and invoices for partnership organizations and external vendors. Community & Partnerships Cultivate and maintain authentic relationships with partner organizations, guest artisans, students, families, and teaching artists. Represent SCT at field events, conferences, and other community programming. Collaborate with development and marketing teams to support program visibility and impact. Collaborate with production and event staff to ensure successful execution of programming. Represent SCT at field events, conferences, and other community programming. Strategic Alignment & Growth Contribute to long-term planning for the Education & Engagement department. Collaborates on long-term Engagement programming plans and goal management. Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities that align with SCT’s mission and expand the reach of programming. Staffing & Faculty Management Hire, onboard, schedule, and support faculty for programming. In partnership with the Emerging Professional Program Manager, support/oversee the hiring and scheduling of summer interns. Support Teaching Artist and Guest Artist hiring, on boarding, communication, scheduling, and assignment and/or artist agreements. Conduct 20–40 annual Teaching Artist evaluations and performance reviews in collaboration with department leadership. Approve timecards for faculty and support staff. Organizational Culture & Equity Actively participate in equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion (EDAI) initiatives, including staff meetings and training. Contribute positively to the organization’s culture, embodying SCT’s mission, vision, and values. Adapt to evolving departmental needs by supporting additional projects as required. Required Skills: Relevant field experience in Theatre Education, Arts Administration, and/or Youth Program Management. 3–5 years of progressive program management experience in community-based arts education or youth programming, including work with multiple organizations with revenue-based educational programming. Experience working with justice-involved or incarcerated youth or relevant experience supporting young people impacted by the juvenile legal system, community-based intervention programs, or restorative justice initiatives. Experience in theatre education curriculum design and evaluation for ages 3.5–18 with an inclusive, culturally responsive approach. Proven leadership in hiring, supervising, and supporting staff and teaching artists. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue tracking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; comfort with databases/registration systems. Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills. Highly organized and adaptable; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. Preferred Skills & Nice-to-Haves: Experience with Tessitura or similar data management systems. Experience with Asana or similar project management systems. Knowledge of Seattle’s youth legal and justice system, and familiarity with community organizations supporting justice-involved or incarcerated youth. Knowledge of Seattle’s arts education ecosystem and existing relationships with local community partners. Experience collaborating with marketing and development teams to support program visibility and revenue growth. Direct experience teaching or developing theatre curriculum for young people. Background in contract and invoice management. Multilingual abilities. CPR/First Aid certification. Location: This position is based at 201 Thomas St, Seattle, WA, in a typical office setting. The site is accessible via public transportation. After a successful 90-day introductory period, this position becomes eligible for one regularly scheduled remote workday per week during the school year. Remote work approval is subject to the needs of the business and must be coordinated in advance with the employee’s supervisor. Schedule: This is a full-time, hourly position, typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support community events and/or Opening Nights. The role requires on-site presence during all Drama School programs, which include school breaks and holidays, as needed. Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance may be discussed as needed.
