Join Downer’s Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) and play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and project partners. As a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist, you will support the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Director and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to implement the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Plan building awareness, appreciation, and support for QTMP across the region. About the Role In this role, you will help deliver comprehensive engagement plans, lead community-facing activities, and ensure that stakeholders remain informed, consulted, and connected throughout the program’s lifecycle. This position is ideal for an experienced engagement professional who thrives in dynamic project environments and is passionate about meaningful community relationships. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support stakeholder engagement planning, scheduling, and meetings. Deliver ongoing communication and notifications of works to local communities. Take the lead on face‑to‑face engagement activities, including community meetings, pop‑ups, and interactions at the Project Information Centre. Build positive, respectful relationships with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of project progress, community issues, and upcoming events. Support delivery of the approved stakeholder engagement program in alignment with government‑defined lead times and construction schedules. Monitor and identify stakeholder‑related risks, issues, and opportunities, recommending strategies to optimise outcomes. Contribute to the creation of public-facing QTMP collateral as custodians of community relationships. Ensure high‑quality data entry in the QTMP Consultation Manager system and assist with preparing reports on performance and deliverables. What you’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related fields. Approximately 5 years’ experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or related fields. Experience in government contracts, major infrastructure, civil works, engineering, public transport, or asset management projects. IAP2 Certificate in Engagement (highly desirable). Experience with Consultation Manager (highly regarded). Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign). Confident in engaging diverse community groups and stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic project environment. Why Join Us?
