We are looking for people with experience in outcome-focused services and a passion for helping vulnerable people transform their lives in. we encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate the below:

  • Skilled in communication and supporting hard to reach and marginalised clients who have multiple needs.
  • Understanding of trauma informed practices, able to apply these to support people in a person centered way.
  • A sound understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness and an understanding of the difficulties they can face in accessing services that are fully responsive to their needs, this may be through personal lived experience.
  • Good networking skills, able to work with a variety of different people to reach positive outcomes.
  • Additionally, experience of cofacilitating groupwork would be beneficial.

The Engagement Worker roles follow office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The ACE team role is full-time (37.5 hours/week), while the North Star role can be part-time or full-time (30-37.5 hours/week).

Responsibilities

This post is offered as a 1 year fixed term contract, or secondment for internal applicants.
St Mungo’s Assertive Contact and Engagement (ACE) Service and North Star project reflects the diversity of Bristol and reaches people and communities that may have had difficulty accessing services that fully meet their needs in the past.
The ACE team supports people with mental health needs who face barriers to accessing services, providing therapeutic groups, drop-ins, and outreach across Bristol. North Star offers dual diagnosis support for homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges, with a focus on trauma-informed care, therapy, psychoeducation, and referrals for long-term support.

In the role of Engagement worker key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the service flexibly across sites, engaging clients in day centres, hostels, community centres, or their homes.
  • Engage with clients in a person centred, recovery focused way in 1-1 and group settings to help clients achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Working with the team to provide high quality contact, engagement and support and assessment plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners through a multidisciplinary approach.
