QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Experience in engine and aircraft system design, with a strong understanding of both commercial and military engine requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, electronic, and sensing components and subsystems, and how they integrate within complex systems.
  • Familiarity with Collins and Pratt & Whitney tools, as well as their design and qualification processes.
  • Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, Matlab, Dymola (or similar physics-based modeling applications), and Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar SYSML tools).
  • Hands-on experience with Engine Control Systems and their integration.
  • Expertise in Model-Based Design tools and practices for developing efficient and reliable systems.
  • Experience in Fuel and Actuation Systems, with an understanding of their role in engine control.
  • Experience in hardware integration, ensuring seamless functionality across systems.
  • Solid experience in System Dynamic Modeling, System Verification, and Validation to ensure high-quality, reliable performance.
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of collaborating seamlessly across teams and with customers to achieve project goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and decompose requirements and perform integration and verification activity with multi-disciplinary teams at Collins and our customer, Pratt & Whitney (PW). The focus for this role will be on Electrical and Electronic products and subsystems.
  • Review data using PW Unigraph and other analysis tools to support investigations, isolate issues down to component level, and collaborate with the responsible Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to resolve them effectively.
  • Design and develop Jet Engine Control Systems for Military engine programs. This includes long-term responsibilities within the systems integration team, such as:
  • Developing system architecture
  • Conducting control system analysis to support requirements development and verification
  • Developing, decomposing, allocating, and managing requirements to manage change control and maintain alignment with program goals.
