Description
Engine Controls Software Engineer (Ignition) We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves? Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. EVDD is customer-obsessed, entrepreneurial, and data-driven and is dedicated to delivering industry-leading customer experience for electric vehicle buyers and owners. You’ll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters, and delivering excellence day in and day out. Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams. Within the EVDD ecosystem, the Engine Controls organization plays a pivotal role in powering Ford’s electrified lineup. We are responsible for the intelligent control systems behind our Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles, ensuring that the internal combustion engine operates in perfect harmony with electric propulsion. In this role, you will write the code that optimizes this synergy, delivering the seamless efficiency, range, and performance that our electrified customers demand. An Engine Control Software Engineer (Ignition) will create, implement, and validate the software algorithms that control the heart of the powertrain: the internal combustion engine. The controls and software include critical spark-related components, fuel ignition management, and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) monitoring. Attention to detail is key, as an engine control developer must deliver clean, understandable code that ensures optimal engine performance, emissions compliance, and drivability. As a member of the Powertrain Controls Software Team, you will join a vibrant group of individuals who work in collaboration with a wide range of teams across departments and engage in developing simple, robust solutions to deliver Ford’s next generation vehicles.
