We are hiring a dependable and skilled Engine Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing team. This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experience—particularly with small engines or standby generators. This would also be a great place for someone who wants to get into the electrical field. Key Responsibilities: Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations Accurately document all work in our service management software Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed Assist our install team on new installations Qualifications: Understanding of small engines, repair, or related mechanical/electrical work Strong customer service and verbal communication skills Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in outdoor environments Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus Position Details: Schedule availability: Monday to Friday (occasional flexibility required for emergencies) No scheduled evenings or weekends Job Type: Part-time or Full-time Compensation: Based on experience and skill level Travel: Local/regional service calls using a company-provided vehicle Why Join Generator Supercenter?
