Wages Starting wage for an Engine Rebuild technician will depend on experience and education. $39.88-$49.96 Responsibilities Quinn is currently looking for a Component Specialist/Rebuild Technician with 5+ years of engine rebuild within Caterpillar machines, diagnosing and repairing such components as Engines, Transmissions, Axles, Fuel Systems, and Differentials. The primary function of this position is to determine the status of service needed for various Caterpillar equipment components (transmissions, engines, fuel systems, differentials, axles) Perform complex repairs correctly such as teardown, inspection, repairs, test running, and/or painting of diesel engines in a shop environment. Perform the necessary service, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts and to restore the equipment to proper operation. Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations. Performs repairs needed to system component(s) (fuel Systems, Drive Train, etc.). Order or obtain from stock the appropriate parts needed to make the repairs. Install, replace, re-build or repair the component and/or equipment in a timely manner and according to specifications. Test the part or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete. This position is responsible for high quality repair service on equipment and engines, responding to customer needs in a positive, safe and timely manner, and ensuring maximum value for work performed.
