Engine System Maintenance Technician Salary: Competitive Grade: 8 Salary: Competitive Location: Tabuk, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships The Engine Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, operating, maintaining and repairing engine and fuel systems, and components on the Hawk aircraft and support equipment. Using all resources available they will maintain aircraft to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They will also be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnosing faults and administrative support to the AMO as directed by the Engine Supervisor; including but not limited to complying with all relevant company policies. Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, its components and resource SQEP levels. Responsible for On the Job Training of any assigned trainee. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Work Direction: In this role the job holder will report to the following: RSAF Policies and procedures M&CA Mandates Maintenance Manager Decision-Making Authority: The job holder may be required to make decisions on the following: Aircraft fault identification, debrief and rectification Aircraft maintenance scheduling Maintaining competency and ensuring SQEP levels are within the mandated limits Scheduling of personal time to maintain the operational requirement Planning / Organising: The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum: The position holder will be responsible for ensuring that BAE Systems maintenance support is delivered effectively to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate any activities likely to prejudice maintenance or safety, whilst remaining within the constraints the RSAF may apply to the Hawk Fleet. They will be responsible for providing support to the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) to ensure delivery of serviceable aircraft to TAGF in order to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme. In addition, the Engine Technician is to provide accurate and up to date information to their Line Managers to ensure the ETIC schedule is achieved, ensuring solutions to any arising issues are identified and rectified during maintenance activities. The service and repair of components into the supply channel, and ensuring their area upholds efficient and effective supply discipline. Ensuring the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system is kept current in their work area. Report Preparation: Any reports as directed including training reports carried out in accordance with the policy. Statistics: Maintenance as directed RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential: Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR substantial proven experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP). Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering. Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role. Desirable: Broad Aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge. An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures. RECRUITMENT Essential: · A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA And Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
