Description

Position Overview:
The Engineer 3, Operational Technology (OT) plays a pivotal role with enhancing the OT infrastructure at the Morrisville facility. This role serves as a technical liaison between the Process Automation team and the site to support the maintenance of automation systems, networks, and manufacturing IT systems, troubleshoot events, and provide on-call technical support to a 24/7 facility to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant field with 5 years of process automation and technology or related experience; or
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant field with 3 years of process automation and technology or related experience
  • Experience with manufacturing IT/OT

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with VMWare or HyperV software
  • Prior experience in the Life Science industry or GMP manufacturing environment

Responsibilities
  • Creates virtual machines using vSphere and VMware or HyperV, ensuring robust infrastructure scalability
  • Builds and implements tools and services bridging the gap between IT and OT
  • Coordinates the installation and configuration of commercial software (e.g., UNICORN, DeltaV, etc.) across the site
  • Installs and configures Cisco Network Switches for optimized network functionality
  • Performs comprehensive user account management via Active Directory (AD) to ensure secure and efficient access controls
  • Manages system backups utilizing data retention software such as Acronis
  • Installs and patches operating systems, such as wireless distribution system (WDS), microarchitectural data sampling (MDS), window server update services (WSUS) to maintain data integrity and security
  • Manages and enhances manufacturing controls network
  • Acts as a mentor and trusted advisor to the infrastructure team to help mature technical depth, as needed
  • Revises and provides input for the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and network drawings to maintain accuracy and compliance
  • Executes work orders supporting automated network equipment
  • Serves as part of the Process Automation on-call support team, providing technical insights and troubleshooting
  • Provides guidance and support to junior engineers, as needed
  • Performs other duties, as assigned
