Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Defect Elimination Lead as the Control Systems Reliability Engineer, you will be required to control and monitor Refinery equipment to ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards, whilst also applying reliability engineering principles, tools, and techniques to identify and prioritise the major production loss/high-cost contributors for the process plant equipment across our Olympic Dam Refinery operations.
Your role will require you to ensure that all issues are solved completely to their root cause by implementing changes in the equipment control systems. You will monitor and contribute to maximising the “whole of life cycle” of equipment performance and aim to reduce total costs associated with equipment failures. Another key responsibility in this role is to ensure the application of reliability principles to new equipment installations to maximise plant availability at the conceptual and design phases.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in time in field & Field Leadership.
- Be embedded into the operational routines to understand the voice of the customer(s).
- Review and analysis condition monitoring reports and maintenance strategies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Conduct thorough problem solving and investigations (RCA) into plant performance issues and implements sustainable solutions to mitigate risk and eliminate defects.
- Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and provide engineering support to execution.
- Improve the performance and capability of the fixed plant equipment, through leadership of technical personnel in engineering disciplines and reliable decision making
- Regularly measures operational results against defined benchmarks and analyses business metrics to determine and monitor when contingency plans should be implemented.
- Review budgets for the assets and designing solutions to avoid reoccurring breakdown and corrective works.
- Identify and assess risks, makes risk informed decisions, using our risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Foster effective and productive working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders.
- Drives a continuous improvement mind-set by actively identifying, developing, and delivering improvement opportunities and initiatives to eliminate waste.
