Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We currently have a unique opportunity within our Network Planning, Customer Planning & Power Quality team for an experienced customer focussed engineer to join our business in a permeant full time capacity based at our CBD head office.
Working alongside other Engineers and Technical Officers, this role plans for our customers energy future by preparing the networks for growth in Customer Energy Resources. You will have a key focus on responding to customer power quality issues and ensure that constraints affecting our customers network experience are resolved timely and efficiently. Success in this role requires strong communication skills to negotiate win-win solutions with our customers and an ability to communicate complex electrical issues in plain language.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL HAVE:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligible and working towards one of the following (or already registered):
  • National Engineering Registration (NER)
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Professional Australia (RPEng)
  • Understanding of technical impacts of Customer Energy Resources (Solar PV, Electric Vehicles, batteries) on customer power quality
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, National Electricity Rules, and the Victorian Electricity Distribution Code of Practice
  • Ability to prepare business cases and strategic plans aligned to AER expenditure methodologies.
  • Ability to know and utilise the right processes and systems to ensure activities are productive and efficient
  • A customer focussed attitude with the ability to communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Specific training in Power Quality assessments including Harmonics, Flicker, Voltage is advantageous.
