BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong experience in developing LabVIEW and TestStand software applications for custom test stations
• Proven ability to design and implement software architectures and frameworks
• Experience in developing and managing Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) for test systems
• Knowledge of automating test sequences and controlling test instruments
• Ability to communicate with and test devices under test (DUT)
• Proficiency in generating comprehensive reports for test data
• Collaborative experience working with hardware engineers to automate custom test stations
• Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills for test stations
• Ability to write clear and accurate technical documentation (specifications, procedures, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience working with LabVIEW and TestStand, especially on production test applications
• National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW and/or TestStand certification is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Python is a plus
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (focus on mixed circuit design)
• Experience with FPGA, CPLD, and microcontroller-based systems
• Background in the development and design of automated test equipment
• Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently
• Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and processes
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science (BSCS), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or similar technical degree

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with expertise in LabVIEW and TestStand to join our team in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will work closely with the hardware design team to develop, implement, and automate functional test systems. The role involves working with test engineers to develop, debug, and verify test software to meet schedule and requirements. Additionally, the candidate will support qualification testing, prepare test procedures, generate reports, and assist with hardware production manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop LabVIEW and TestStand software applications for custom test stations in line with customer requirements
• Create software architectures and frameworks for automation of test systems
• Architect and develop the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) for test systems
• Automate test sequences and control test instruments
• Establish communication with the device under test (DUT)
• Generate detailed reports for test results and analysis
• Collaborate with hardware test engineers to automate and integrate custom test stations
• Debug, troubleshoot, and verify the functionality of test stations
• Create and maintain technical documentation including specifications, verification procedures, and operating manuals
