Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Registration with EGBC as an EIT or P. Eng
  • A university degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as, the Canadian Electrical Code, the Mines Act, and CSA M421, Use of Electricity in Mines.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the mining industry, preferably open pit
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
  • Management of special projects and sub-contractors
  • Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements
  • Good data analytical skills.
  • A university degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university

The following will be critical to successfully perform this role:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of electrical designs and design standards across various projects
  • Provide electrical technical support within all department projects and coordinate with external consultants and contractors as required.
  • Manage small multidisciplinary projects from conceptual to detailed engineering through to construction support and commissioning as required.
  • Review equipment specifications and tender documents for procurement of equipment including expediting orders to facilitate installation and construction.
  • Reporting on a regular basis, technical report preparation, and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborate with Mill and Mine electrical teams as required to complete projects.
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the Scheduler role as required or as assigned by the department head
