Description

Overview Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Salary: $70,000 - $110,000/yr DOE Responsibilities Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities Interact with customers on technical issues and questions Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions Skills / Qualifications Have the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols Leads and assigns the work of others when needed Analytical/technical knowledge provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis Defined work experience has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge. Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions.
