Overview:
Belcan is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Manufacturing Project Engineer to join our team onsite in Middletown, CT. This role is ideal for technically minded engineers with a passion for both project execution and process optimization. You’ll support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment-balancing manufacturing engineering, project coordination, and customer engagement using Agile methodologies.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong organizational, communication, and technical skills. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to drive engineering deliverables, resolve roadblocks, and improve overall project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a customer-facing point of contact-lead meetings, provide updates, and resolve project challenges.
  • Support manufacturing readiness, quality initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Create and manage Work Instruction Packages, action items, and project plans.
  • Evaluate engineering tasks and workflows; assign, track, and drive completion across disciplines.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze and visualize project metrics, trends, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to tool and fixture design reviews, data analysis, and cost-reduction projects.
  • Deliver professional presentations and reports to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related STEM field.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong customer-facing presence.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with tools like SAP, SmartSheets, SharePoint, or Teamcenter is a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in machine shop or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, PPAP, or quality engineering practices.
  • AutoCAD and blueprint reading skills.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering documentation.
