Come & join us on the road to success. #LI-Hybrid Job Description IDIADA is looking for a highly motivated electric engineer to work with plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. The candidate will collaborate in a leading team with electric vehicle charging technologies, combining knowledge of communication protocols and general electric safety topics. Currently IDIADA collaborates in conductive and inductive charging technologies from light duty to heavy duty vehicles. One of the main challenges of this sector is to develop and validate safe and reliable high power charging systems which enable that electric mobility becomes accessible and attractive for all types of electrified vehicles. Main Activities 1. Certification and Conformance Testing Accredited testing laboratory (ISO 17025) for IEC 61851-1, IEC 61851-23, and IEC 61851-24 standards Self-certification support for CE Marking compliance Over 800 automated test cases covering worldwide charging standards Testing up to 500kW DC power capacity Standards compliance: CCS1&2, GB/T, CHAdeMO, NACS, and OCPP 2. In-Laboratory Interoperability Testing Testing against 20+ DC and 30+ AC charging stations Coverage of 75+ manufacturers from global market studies Testing for 1,000V and 500V battery architectures Exhaustive test protocols ensuring complete interoperability User abusive testing and error performance analysis Root-cause analysis collaboration with EVSE manufacturers 3. In-Field Interoperability Testing (Field Operational Tests) Tailor-made test routes in target markets Real-world compatibility verification across multiple charging station brands Testing under various grid conditions On-site problem-solving by expert engineers 4. Performance Testing Extreme temperature testing (-30°C to 50°C) in climatic chambers Charging performance and efficiency validation up to 500kW Power distribution analysis Vehicle and charger instrumentation 5. Technical Support and Development Charging architecture definition and prototyping Regulatory compliance consulting for worldwide standards Training on IEC, ISO, DIN, GB/T, and CHAdeMO standards V2G decoder software development and support Qualifications Education: Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications / Industrial Engineering or similar University or Kosen degree Profile: 1-2 years of hands-on testing experience will be highly valued Analytical capacity for electronic and electrical circuits Capable of working with automotive high voltage systems Basic programming knowledge and LabView proficiency is valued Basic knowledge of network protocol analysis (IPv6, TCP, and UDP) is valued Interest in automotive and powertrain topics, especially electric vehicles Willingness for moderate travel activity Good communication skills Languages: Fluent in Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory B2 level in English is required Additional Information Applus IDIADA is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
