[What the role is] The Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group in NEA is the national authority for radiation protection in Singapore and serves to protect the public, radiation workers and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation. It also ensures that Singapore fulfils her obligations to relevant international conventions and agreements. [What you will be working on] As an Executive Engineer/Senior Engineer of Nuclear Security and Safeguards Branch in the Nuclear Safety Division, you will be responsible for the following: Ensure that Singapore is able to fulfil its obligations under various international conventions and agreements on nuclear safety, security and safeguards, and in particular implement IAEA Nuclear Safeguards to fulfil national obligations Implement activities tasked by inter-ministry committee and its working groups, including work with agencies on various Nuclear Safeguards and Security related initiatives Promote regional Safeguards and Security Awareness among stakeholders Provide technical support and advice on nuclear safeguards and security matters to relevant government agencies Monitor nuclear science and technology developments and provide technical assessment on safeguards and security Monitor developments in international conventions and agreements and provide assessment [What we are looking for] Job Requirements: Good Honours Degree in engineering field 2-5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the energy sector or regulatory role Good communication and interpersonal skills Good analytical, writing and presentation skills Able to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision Able to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines Able to adapt to changes and has a positive work attitude Highly motivated, meticulous, committed and takes initiative Aptitude to understand concepts in radiation protection and nuclear science Able to travel overseas for official trips Applicants will be updated on the status of their applications within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting. http://jobs.careers.gov.sg The Singapore Public Service plays a key role in the economic growth, progress and stability of Singapore by formulating and implementing government policies, as well as providing key public services.
