Engineering Technical Operator (Grade 5)

Your opportunity
We’re currently looking for an Engineering Technical Operator at our Huhtamaki Gosport Site and you should be within reasonable commuting distance from here. You will be working on a shift pattern working 6am – 6pm one week Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun and the following week Tues & Weds.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out mini preventive maintenance (PM) on various paper product manufacturing machines to required standards.
  • Fault-find and support basic repairs on equipment and machinery as per training level.
  • Communicate equipment condition and highlight emerging issues to Engineering.
  • Support engineering team with maintenance, audits, and tool changes.
  • Train and mentor other team members including GMP cleaners and participate in improvement projects.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Previous experience working within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grades A–C).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
