At LCRA, we are currently seeking a highly motivated engineer with subject matter expertise in power plant engineering to join our generation department. Be the force behind the grid. As an LCRA Generation engineer, you’re on the front lines of reliability, keeping the lights on and the power flowing for all of Central Texas! You will be trusted to: - Plan and conduct engineering projects involving independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. - Schedule and coordinate detailed phases of engineering. May act as team leader to coordinate the work of other fully competent engineers or other technical personnel on engineering projects and studies. - Perform engineering and design work. Conduct field analysis, inspections, and performance tests. - Prepare technical specifications for project services, equipment and materials. Complete related computations and drafts schematics and diagrams. - Coordinate and review the work of engineering associates to the extent of assuming professional responsibility for the work. Personally affixes seal or communicates necessary changes to the responsible engineer for correction. - Gather engineering information by traveling independently to various power plant locations. You qualify with: - Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas   - Driver's license You are a great fit with: - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering. - Experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering within a power plant environment.
