DESCRIPTION:
About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team, to strengthen our hydrologic and hydraulic modelling capability. The role will see you both in delivery of modelling services, as well as developing our processes and people. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of integrated projects and enjoy true variety in your work. This role will see you:
Being recognised as a technical lead on complex, multi-disciplinary projects and contributing a high degree of quality engineering solutions
Undertake modelling on small to large scale projects, including existing and proposed pipe networks, waterways and retarding basins, and dam break analysis
Develop our team’s capabilities and be involved in process improvement and optimisation.
Assess at the big picture of modelling in our project workflow, with a mindset for growth and opportunity.
Working with clients and authorities to communicate and interpret modelling and implications, to find a way forward for our client’s projects.
Mentoring and developing graduates and junior engineers, fostering a strong professional development culture
About you
First and foremost, you share our passion for achieving the best project outcomes through collaboration and inclusive teamwork. You are a seasoned Civil or Environmental Engineer with a proven track record successfully delivering flood modelling, and ready to take on a technical lead role. You will come to us with:
Experience in modelling of urban drainage, waterways, and retarding basins, as well as strong report writing skills
Strong interest and proficiency in TUFLOW and RORB, with exposure to HECRAS and DRAINS
Previous experience leading, developing and mentoring teams or individuals
A passion for teamwork and collaboration; fostering a multidisciplinary approach to projects
Previous experience with water authorities, local council or water corporations will be highly regarded.
