Description

RK&K is hiring an Engineer to our Construction Management team in Orlando, Florida. This position will work within our Construction Management group under the direction of an RK&K Project Engineer and/or Construction Manager. Essential Functions: Field Support and Observation * Assist with on-site inspection of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements. * Document daily construction activities, quantities, and conditions in inspection reports. Project Documentation * Maintain organized project records, including submittals, RFIs, correspondence, meeting minutes, and change order logs. * Support preparation of status reports, schedules, and cost tracking updates. Coordination and Communication * Participate in project meetings with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives. * Communicate observations and issues clearly to senior staff for resolution. Technical Support * Review basic construction plans, specifications, and schedules with guidance from senior staff. * Support quality assurance/quality control for work in place, including material verification/testing, testing coordination with others, and field measurements. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance * Monitor site conditions for adherence to safety protocols. * Report on any unsafe practices or conditions to supervisory staff immediately. Learning and Development * Shadow senior engineers, inspectors, and construction managers to gain exposure to construction management practices. * Proactively seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge of construction methods, codes, and standards.
