Field Process Engineer I/II
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE & CAPABILITIES
o Serve as the subject matter expert for CarMax reconditioning processes.
o Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify process failures, using root cause analysis to drive improvements.
o Assist in evaluating and addressing field inquiries related to staffing, capacity, and processes.
o Maintain, execute, and support enhancement of workforce planning models for Service Operations.
o Travel to various CarMax locations to support the sustainment and training of Service Operations & Logistics processes by applying functional expertise.
o Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the Service Operations and Logistics departments.
o Support the testing and implementation of new tools, supplies, and equipment at store locations.
EXPERIENCE & PROJECT SUPPORT
o Travel to store locations to pilot and support process changes.
o Provide expertise to support Process Engineering initiatives, projects, and programs.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Field Process Engineer I/II is an integral part of the process improvement team, assisting with the execution of projects and daily tasks that drive the achievement of business objectives within the Service Operations and Logistics departments. This role involves conducting analyses, designing standardized work procedures, testing new products, and collaborating with store teams, vendors, and other associates to develop and sustain efficient processes. As a Field Process Engineer I/II, you will work both independently and in collaboration with peers on various projects and initiatives.
In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to support both Field and Home Office teams. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with stores while managing other departmental responsibilities.
