Description
MEA Engineering Engineer I / Technologist II   Ballard has a 12 month temporary full-time contract position available for a Engineer I / Technologist II at our Burnaby location. The successful candidate will work within the MEA Engineering team to support the next generation MEA and innovation activities. The role will be looking to find the limits of new fuel cell technology in a world-class test lab, surrounded by industry experts.     Responsibilities: * Qualify new MEA components * Develop test protocols and test plans * Collaborate with component owners to develop and refine test methods * Create databases for test data and interpret key results * Support safety audits of new test setups * Analyze data and prepare appropriate reports and/or presentations to summarize findings * Present to internal and external customers * Assist in the day-to-day management of the test equipment     Requirements: * Relevant engineering or science degree with 1-5 years of experience in fuel cells or relevant technologist diploma or associates degree with 3-7 years of experience in a testing lab or similar technical environment is required * Experience with MEA required * Ability to interpret test data and compare against design objectives * Understanding of CCM and MEA manufacturing processes an asset * Proficiency in engineering tools like FMEA and Six Sigma skills an asset * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proven ability to work quickly and reliably while under pressure     Position Reporting Details: Tommy Cheng – Manager, MEA Engineering   Ballard values diversity in the workplace and is committed to Employment Equity.
