JOB DESCRIPTION

The Enterprise Hosting - Cloud Compute team is responsible for the introduction and maintenance of technologies that support our Azure and Google public cloud environments. This encompasses IaaS, storage, serverless compute, and other fundamental services to support cloud stakeholders and lines of business. Key deliverables include the introduction of new services and capabilities in these areas, adding feature enhancements, and acting as a point of contact for escalations and consultations for our support and application teams. A strong network and/or identity and access management background is preferred as the team candidate will be required to jointly develop solutions with our partners in those areas that work for our services. Additionally, the role will involve working closely with our security and control partners to deliver services in a manner that aligns with the bank’s security posture.
Candidates will need to be familiar with working in a DevOps/Infrastructure-as-Code environment and be comfortable working with CI/CD pipeline technologies. The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to design and deliver solutions within a public cloud environment and have experience working collaboratively with business partners, risk management organizations, and other operations & infrastructure teams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience of infrastructure automation with a solid development background (Python is preferred; Java or other also acceptable)
  • Solid understanding and experience with engineering the delivery of technologies in public cloud environments (Azure and Google are preferred, AWS also acceptable)
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline technologies and code release processes is required
  • Experience with CI/CD/infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.) is required
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) are required
  • Experience with cloud storage backup/protection technologies (e.g., CommVault, Rubrik, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience working in an Enterprise Agile/Scrum delivery framework such as SAFe is preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with focus on risk management is preferred
  • Practical administration experience working with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is preferred
  • Experience with network segmentation utilizing Azure native Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Application Security Groups (ASGs) is preferred
  • Understanding of Azure Policy and maintaining resource compliance is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to explain technologies to a wide audience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to take leadership on engineering design decisions, solve technical problems, and make improvements to our systems
  • Azure or Google Cloud certifications are preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, engineer, and deliver IaaS, storage, and other compute related technologies and solutions to TD’s public cloud platform via automation pipelines
  • Develop automation leveraging our pipeline and configuration management technologies to deploy and configure resources
  • Create high- and low-level design diagrams, build/deployment standards and technical specifications documentation
  • Align with our cloud stakeholders and customers to develop new capabilities/feature enhancements for our existing services
  • Assist in the deployment and troubleshooting of new platforms that leverage our infrastructure services
  • Development/documentation of deployments plans for our services to be consumed by release and application teams
  • Analysis of potential security issues/vulnerabilities and development of remediation plans to ensure a secure and stable environment
  • Align with technology & regulatory risk partners to set requirements
  • Analysis and design of network data flows and micro-segmentation within Azure and Google as it pertains to enabling services
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues between public cloud resources and on-premises infrastructure
