Classification Title: Engineer III-Staff Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) Grade: 24-26 (depending on experience) Requisition No.: 2682 Number of Positions: 1 Location: Oak Ridge, TN Organization: TES Department: Engineering Core Services Project Assignment: D&D Posting Date: 3/24/2026 Closing Date: 4/21/2026 (or until filled) Duties: PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES (FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS): * Prepares engineering products such as: calculations, specifications, scopes of work, analyses, designs and design changes, testing criteria, start-up test plans, and engineering reports within the discipline. * Provide technical support and develop procedures/training in the areas of groundwater treatment, operations, pump replacement, and perform troubleshooting for those systems. * Prepares P&ID’s and piping designs to include filtration for groundwater treatment systems.  * Interface with procurement and vendors to ensure adherence to technical specifications within the discipline. * May be assigned as Project Engineer, Discipline Engineer, System Engineer, or Cognizant System Engineer. * Follows procedures in the development of engineering products. * May develop engineering products and provide expertise in the engineering discipline commensurate with grade level. * Maintains timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities. * Keeps proper engineering files and records. * Applies industry codes and standards in development of engineering products commensurate with grade level. * Understands and uses computer software and applications associated with engineering assignments. * Complies with company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies. * Develops an understanding of the role of each functional area within the company. * Conforms to company core values. * Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility. * Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others. Job-Related Qualifications Required: Education: BS in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university Experience: 2+ years of experience required.
