POSITION: SENIOR INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL ENGINEER – FUNCTIONAL SAFETY

Your responsibilities

  • Perform Safety Integrity Level (SIL) validation calculations
  • Draft Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS)
  • Prepare instrumentation and control cost estimates and quotes
  • Develop technical specifications for instruments and control valves
  • Participate in P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) reviews
  • Oversee the development of technical drawings
  • Develop and execute test procedures
  • Conduct site visits and inspections

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automated Production Engineering or related discipline
  • Membership with a provincial Order of Engineers
  • 10+ years of relevant experience

You’re the right fit if you have

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve issues effectively
  • Certification in Functional Safety (CFSP, CFSE, or TÜV), and/or knowledge of IEC-61511 and ANSI/ISA84 standards
  • Knowledge of industrial automation (asset)
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, HMIs, DCS, and safety systems (asset)
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and power distribution (asset)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
