Description Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a civil engineer to join our Civil Engineering Group in our Cheyenne, Wyoming office. This engineer will work for multiple project managers on a broad range of project types. The position would offer the opportunity to work on varied types of projects, including municipal, utility healthcare, affordable housing, educational facilities, housing developments, and much more. EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES Knowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM software Prepares details and calculations for project components and systems Learns about products and construction procedures Prepares and writes reports Provides field observation during construction Studies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirements Reviews shop drawings and product submittals Checks own work Coordinates work with other disciplines Acts proactively and proposes potential solutions to problems Works overtime, when necessary Other duties as assigned WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required: Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites Remain stationary for long periods of time Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder Identify color Read, communicate, and document in English Determine and exchange accurate information Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Investigative: Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum Has passed FE Examination DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Professional attitude Collaborates effectively with others Previous engineering and/or construction experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates strong commitment to professional development Structural and Investigative: Master’s degree (MSCE/MSAE) from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
