By joining District 8 as an Engineer-in-Training II in Pulaski County, you’ll have the opportunity to support each of the district divisions by reviewing, analyzing, and performing engineering duties under the direction of a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Conduct field inspections, surveys, and materials testing
  • Support senior engineers in design and construction projects
  • Use engineering software and tool.
  • Use computer software to analyze, organize and compile data.
  • Perform technical calculations and analyze data for transportation projects

Ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with roadway design, traffic engineering, or construction inspection
  • KYTC policies, procedures, and software

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of engineering experience as an Engineer-In-Training.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to employment in this job classification. Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors. http://kyboels.ky.gov/. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions

Probationary Period
