THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our dynamic Municipal and Civil Engineering group in Edmonton as an Engineer-in-Training and be part of a team that shapes the future of land development projects in the area. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking project consultancy services primarily in the discipline area of private sector land development projects in the Edmonton area. As part of the engineering design and project management team you will engage with colleagues and assist with clients, consultants, and approval agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Engage and coordinate with clients, contractors, project team members, stakeholders and the public on various projects;
  • Carry out preliminary and detailed design of municipal engineering and land development infrastructure, including stormwater management, sanitary sewers, water networks, roadways, grading, etc.;
  • Manage interactions with other team members; Preliminary and detailed contract administration, and field reviews for projects under construction;
  • Be involved in all stages of a project development, from concept to handover to the client, preparing and coordinating technical reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents; providing support throughout the tender process; assisting with managing construction project;
  • Prepare analyses, reports, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, presentations, and technical reports as required;
  • Develop and strengthen existing skills while delivering engineering projects in line with client requirements and industry best practices;
  • Ensure that solutions offered and delivered reflect the needs of private sector, municipal, provincial, and federal clients;
  • Work effectively with engineering and technical team members across WSP offices;
  • Preliminary and detailed contract administration, and field reviews for projects under construction;
  • Field survey assistance and inspection of municipal engineering and land development projects under construction may be required to gain construction knowledge and understanding;
  • Other duties as assigned.
