Description Job Description: Manufacturing Support Research and recommend solutions to emergent manufacturing problems Assist with work traveler development Assist with tooling development including design of in-house tooling when required Recommend alternate components and/or manufacturing methods Recommend improvements to manufacturing process Interface with customer and supplier engineering personnel as necessary Engineering Design Perform various design tasks including generation of harness assembly drawings, harness installation drawings, mold design and molded cable manufacturing planning, routing lists, wiring diagrams and schematics, calculations, engineering specifications and bills of material Perform design verification and validation Specify qualification and acceptance test requirements Generate and maintain design basis documents Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) Review and/or approve ECO's Interface with customer and supplier engineering personnel as necessary Provide support to estimating group for bids involving engineering design Engineering Administration Administer InterConnect PDM system Maintain processes and documentation to comply with AS9100 Design Control requirements Coordinate and manage various internal and external engineering/design projects Project Management Provide overall project management for design projects Generate project plans compliant with AS9100 design planning requirements Organize, conduct and document design planning meetings Assist in manipulation, formatting, analysis and import of design data from outside organizations Coordinate design project milestones with customers and suppliers Other tasks as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline required Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Proficiency at project management required Previous aerospace experience is desirable, especially in the area of wiring harness design and/or routing Previous experience with either AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA or similar related to harness design and/or routing Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems desirable Professional Engineering license (or the ability to obtain a license) is desirable Candidate must be able to travel occasionally in support of wiring installations to various customer locations in the US and abroad 3-5 years previous experience
Responsibilities
The engineer will provide manufacturing support, design harness assemblies, and manage engineering projects in compliance with AS9100 standards. They are responsible for generating design documentation, performing verification and validation, and coordinating project milestones with stakeholders.
